Jaguar I-Pace - long-term review

During lockdown's first two months I used of my 30 minutes' a day exercise to cover 500 miles on my pushbike. Meanwhile the car did 30 miles. Extrapolating, I can banish range anxiety as the battery life is eight months.

A more relevant piece of data became apparent as we started moving again. I'd always been driving the Jaguar in winter temperatures. Suddenly it was 25 degrees out there. How would this affect efficiency and range?

Usefully but not transformationally. At least 10 per cent better on medium to long trips, or a safe extra 20 miles. 

Actually for repeated short trips, the Jaguar was consuming loads of juice with me. That's because it has a three-quarter tonne battery that needs to reach working temperature. For most people, they plug it in and use the preconditioning timer on the car to draw current and warm the car just before driving away. 

But I can't do that as I don't have a charger at home – don't have a driveway. So the battery is warmed during the first few miles by using up energy it has stored within itself. And remember, every long trip starts out with a short one.
