This small-scale importer will now bring TVR Cerberas to the U.S
TVR Garage will give you a choice of engines and exterior options, with plans to offer the same for other vintage TVR models in the future
Based in North America and long-harboured a dream to own a TVR? Arizona-based TVR Garage will source you your very own Cerbera now the iconic, wayward Brit has passed the 25-year importation rule.
Almost pre-empting quips about the Old TVR Experience, examples that’ll be brought across the pond will either already be among the cleanest on the market, or will be stripped down and restored by TVR Garage itself. That comes thanks to a new partnership struck with UK-based TVR specialists, Str8six, which will provide access to parts and materials. No need to tick the option box marked 'permanent mechanic sat in the passenger seat', perhaps.
The Cerbera is powered by one of two displacements V8s: the first is a 4.2-litre with 370bhp, which gets you to 60mph in 4.2s and on to a top speed of 180. Alternatively, a bigger 4.5-litre, 420bhp block can be had which cracks a sub-four-second sprint and tops out at 195.
Other variants of the engine - including a 4.7-litre - do exist but haven’t been listed as part of TVR Garage’s commission list. We do know that it’ll happily source both hard and soft-top versions of the 2+2 sporty grand tourer, though.
If for some reason you don’t want a Cerbera (um, why?), TVR Garage also has plans to offer the same bespoke service with the Tuscan, Tamora, T350 and Sagaris when these models eventually become eligible for import. No mention of the Speed 12, unfortunately. One can dream…
