Feast your eyes on these stunning Lamborghini Countach and Revuelto 1:8 scale models
Priced at between £12k and £15k, they take 400 hours to make and are limited to just 199 units each
Valentine's Day has passed, and you’re still getting an earful for forgetting their present. Fear not! We’ve found the perfect way to make amends. In fact, we’ve found two. Amalgam - known for creating bespoke 1:8 scale model cars - has just released a pair of hand-built, intricately detailed Lamborghinis to come to your aid.
Both the Countach LP400 and Revuelto are officially licensed products, and each of the 199 limited-run examples takes around 400 hours to complete. This alone should win you a few extra brownie points alongside your very best ‘I’m sorry’ face, but even more so considering the price of £14,835 for the vintage supercar and £12,185 for Lambo’s first hybrid. Wowza.
Let’s start with the Countach. Introduced in 1974 and equipped with a huge longitudinal-mounted 4.0-litre V12, just 151 of these LP400 models were ever built. In Amalgam’s 50cm-long form, you can choose between a Giallo Fly yellow or Rosso Red finish, while the doors, headlights, front compartment and rear engine cover are all operational.
The alternative is the Revuelto, which officially entered production last summer and gave TopGear.com plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the raging bull’s future. Amalgam says it can recreate any and every detail available from Lambo’s official options list - including paint codes. So that sadly rules out British Racing Green then, we take it? Also, please don’t ask us why that chap is staring at it with so much tension, because we’ve no idea.
Sandy Copeman, founder of the company, said: “At Amalgam, we take great pride in our commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail and are delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with Automobili Lamborghini to bring these iconic vehicles to life as perfect large-scale models. Whether you're a collector or a Lamborghini enthusiast, our models offer a unique opportunity to own a piece of automotive history.”
The Countach is ready for order now, while the Revuelto will be made available at some point later this year… if you can wait that long to present your token of apology. Maybe the man in the picture can’t, which explains the tension.
