Video: watch a drifter use his tyres as a paintbrush

‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett celebrates two million Facebook fans with an epic arty skid

The days of a good old pat on the back are gone. Recognition in the digital age comes in many forms: double taps on Instagrams, likes on Facebook and retweets on Twitter – that kind of thing.

But when two million people dig what you’re doing, it’s worthy of a slightly bigger celebration. Y'know, the big, drifty kind.

Step forward Kiwi drifter ‘Mad’ Mike Whiddett, who did exactly that when he hit the two million milestone on Facebook recently.

The dori-master found an open section of tarmac, hopped in his ‘Radbul’ Mazda MX-5 – complete with a four-rotor, twin turbo’d engine good for 1000bhp  – and got creative.
