TopGear.com's covering the 24 Hours Nurburgring race this weekend, which diffuses thousands of horsepowers across the Nordschleife (the bit the public can drive on for €24 a lap) for 1440 SOLID minutes.
In anticipation, we thought we'd take a look at the ten fastest production cars to make it round the 15.5-mile track. It'll certainly put this weekend's lap times into perspective. And, indeed, Sabine Schmitz's staggering effort in a Ford Transit van.
Before you click on, we should point out why the GT-R's suspiciously low down the list - it was a wet lap. A WET LAP! And why the Zonda R's record-breaking run doesn't feature: it's too rare to count as a 'production' car. We'll also leave the argument of whether the Radicals are ‘proper' production cars alone...
