Top Gear Technology Centre P45 review
Good stuff
You can take it anywhere, rarely have to get out, and will save thousands on expensive bathwater
Bad stuff
The crash protection is a bit fleshy, it’s probably made by children, and it’s not actually allowed on trains
Overview
What is it?
While it might be disguised as a suit of armour, the P45 is actually the world’s smallest car. The roof and windscreen close over your head like a helmet, and your arms poke out the sides so you can reach the wheel.
But it has lights, indicators, a number plate, and it’s passed all the government tests, which means you can drive it on the road, although the advantage of a car this small is that you don’t have to use main roads at all.
Instead, you take it on the train and – when you arrive in the city – there’s no need to use the tube or bus, because you have your car with you.
What's the verdict?
