Lexus GX (US) (2010-2023) review
Interior
What is it like on the inside?
The first blessing you notice is that the Lexus Remote Touch infotainment system is not fitted to the GX. While that often-complicated set-up might be fine in some of the sedans, it has not made the journey to this chassis. There is just a set of good old knobs and switches plus some dated but almost kitschy dials and graphics, all of which work perfectly. The downside of this is that there is no CarPlay. The upside is that the audio system is up to the usual Lexus high-fidelity standard.
The seats are broad, but quite flat, meaning you roll around in them more than most would like. But their high-set position gives the all-important commanding driving position, which makes placing the car on the road more simple. The quality of all the materials is well up to Lexus’s high standards, giving a sense that this truck has been assembled with care and thought.
The first two rows of seats in this three-row model are fine, with plenty of head and leg space plus loads of cupholders and cubbies. The third row is small and cramped, though and there is almost no luggage space behind them, so don’t expect to be able to take a full load of people and their luggage, too.
