GMC Acadia (US) review
Buying
What should I be paying?
Prices for the GMC Acadia start at $42,600 for the FWD Elevation entry-level trim, which comes with a great deal of what the SUV has to offer including the tech and safety options, seating for seven people and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. Next up, the AWD-only AT4 starts at $50,000, which nets you everything the Elevation offers along with off-road suspension, active torque control and the other hardware bits we mentioned, along with an exclusive interior package. This and all trims have a panoramic sunroof available as an optional extra.
Lastly, the Acadia Denali will run you at least $54,300 to $56,300 depending on your choice of front-or-all-wheel drive. It too has all the base gear but also throws in a more premium leather interior, heated and vented seats, 20in wheels and a bunch of other details that say “Ooh, look at me, I’m a Denali". This trim throws in an ambient lighting feature that can be configured on the fly via the infotainment screen, allowing riders to set the right mood on the go, whatever that might be.
If we were to get one, the AT4 is at the very least compelling enough to consider, given that it’s functionally more ready to go than the other trims. If we were simply looking to get by with one, the base model has plenty of standard gear to satisfy most non-off-roading needs.
Super Cruise is available for all three trims, which is a $2,200-ish add-on, plus subscription. Thankfully, if you go for it, the first three years of the subscription are included, which is plenty of time to decide if it’s a right fit for you. If you end up not regretting the purchase, customers can then re-up their subscription monthly or annually.
