Audi e-tron GT (US) review
Buying
What should I be paying?
The standard Audi e-tron GT comes in at $106,500 which scores you the 522hp powertrain and a solid collection of standard equipment like an adaptive air suspension, an interior lighting kit and enhanced power steering. A prestige package ups the price to $114,500 and throws in a superior version of the HD Matrix-design LED headlights that have nifty animations, a suite of driver assist gizmos and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Opt for the RS e-tron GT and you get the whole shebang, including the 637hp setup, for $147,100. Additional packages include the real-axle steering option along with carbon fibre appearance bits for an extra $5,000.
If we were looking to scoop up an e-tron GT of our own, we’d be content with the base model’s power, but we’d want to get the performance and tech options, too. At that point, the jump to RS GT isn’t that much farther and we could be persuaded to make it.
The thing is, at this point in the e-tron GT’s life cycle, it might be worth holding off in the hopes that a refresh is around the corner. A touch-up in the looks department would go a long way, but more so would be improved battery efficiency.
All the while, the more modern-looking, slightly more prestigious Porsche Taycan with all its (pricey) variations is giving your wallet “come hither” eyes from the dealership across the street.
