MB&F is releasing a sapphire-themed version of its HM8 Mark 2
Limited to just 33 units, the HM8 Mark 2 ‘Blue’ will be priced at just over £70,000
Want to be the absolute envy of all your friends at the golf range? If you’ve got around £72,000 lying around, Maximilian Busser and Friends (MB&F) has just announced a sapphire-finished ‘Blue’ follow-up to its now sold-out HM8 Mark 2 Green/White series.
Like its forebear, this one will be limited to just 33 units, but adopts a much more eye-catching approach with the blue hue complemented by metallic pigments throughout. These supposedly mimic the resin found in metallic car paints, with its creators even following similar application techniques.
The internals have also been refined from previous MB&F limited-edition watches. So it retains the HM5’s supercar aesthetics, the HMX’s compact sizing and the HM8 Mark 1’s bespoke mechanical work. It then combines these into a sapphire crystal hub which comprises a carbon macrolon and grade five titanium. ‘Fancy’ would be a severe understatement.
Aside from the general automotive influence, the exterior design of the Mark 2 has even been created with driving in mind. So you’ll spot minute/hour discs which sit horizontally and have been magnified at a 90-degree angle to the vertical display. The reason, we suspect, is to… make it easier to tell the time when you’re driving.
The HM8 Mark 2 ‘Blue’ follows in the footsteps of other bespoke MB&F watches which showcase Maximiliam Busser’s strong passion for the car world, including the gorgeous HM8 ‘Can-Am’ edition which celebrated the legendary motorsport series of the same name.
