Exclusive wallpapers: posing with the new Rolls-Royce Dawn

TG gets private access to the £250,000 super-cabrio for your desktop’s pleasure

When we heard Rolls-Royce was scalping the roof from the Wraith, its rakish fastback, we clearly needed a closer look.

So on a late summer’s night we snuck to a secret location to meet Dawn. No, not the model you see in the pictures above, but the new £250,000 super-convertible Roller.

Luckily, we also dragged along super-snapper John Wycherley to capture the rather lovely images you see above.

The Dawn, then, is the convertible version of the lovely Wraith, and stakes the territory between waft and genuine high performance. It uses the same powertrain as the Ghost – rather than the Wraith’s meatier engine – so its 6.6-litre V12 is good for 563bhp (compared to the big coupe’s 624).

Its body surfaces are all taut and meticulously chamfered, and though it shares the Wraith’s wheelbase it looks smaller and punchier overall, without losing the essential elegance that is core to Rolls-Royce.
