Video: Hyundai WRC car jumps 44 metres

Forty-four metres is a long way. It's very nearly the length of a pair of tennis courts, or almost seven Mercedes S-Class Pullmans laid nose-to-tail.

It's also the length of the jump recorded by Hyundai rallyist Thierry Neuville over the infamous ‘Colin's Crest' (named, of course, after the late, great Mr McRae) at last weekend's Rally Sweden.

Hyundai reckons this is the longest-ever leap recorded at Colin's Crest, though we have no idea which higher authority regulates and measures such claims. Eddie Van Halen?

Neuville, incidentally, finished Rally Sweden in second spot, some five seconds behind VW's championship leader, Sebastien Ogier. Britain's Kris Meeke came home in 12th place. The WRC heads next to the rather less snowy climes of Mexico, the third round of the championship kicking off on March 5.
