Is this Lamborghini's 'flip' paintjob terrible or genius?

Graffiti artist treats Gallardo to temperature-sensitive 'Captain America' livery. Whuh?

Published: 23 Jul 2015

With a 520bhp 5.0-litre V10 engine, 376 torques, a 0-62mph time of four seconds, top speed of 195mph, and lines sharp enough to slice bacon, the Lamborghini Gallardo can hardly be classed as a shrinking violet.

But having been superseded by St Agata's new V10 poster boy – the raucous Huracan – it seems the Gallardo is resorting to extreme tactics to garner attention.

Step forward Rene Turrek. With the help of some psychedelic, temperature-sensitive, colour-changing paint, the German graffiti artist is transforming humdrum Gallardos into head-scratching masterpieces of deception.

As you’ll see in the video above, a bucket of hot water sees Turrek's Lambo instantly morph from a nice aubergine purple into a rolling, high horsepower Captain America poster.

Yes, it's basically a Global Hypercolour t-shirt in car form. Genius? Terrible? Both? Let us know below…
