The Shelby GT350 R sounds excellent
The (admittedly short) video above is proof that Shelby's GT350 R Mustang sounds excellent. No more need be said.
Oh, you're still here? OK. That GT350 R, unveiled at this year's Detroit Motor Show, is the hardest-ever production Mustang, featuring a pared-back, track-focused philosophy you have to admire. And fear.
There is no carpet. There is no air con. There's no stereo, nor are there any rear seats. The wheels are made from lightweight carbon fibre, and Ford has fitted an intricate aero pack, a Torsen diff and adjustable dampers. Sticky. Pointy.
And noisy.
Because then there's the not-so-small matter of a 500bhp, 400lb ft flat-plane crank V8. 5.2 litres of flat-plane crank V8, actually. Flat-plane cranks are very, very loud. And because there is no soundproofing, the soundtrack from inside the car should be pretty mean.
Outside the car? Well, click the video above. And play it loud.
