It's a targa-top GT 86!

Sure, we've already seen Toyota's version of a roofless, convertible GT 86, but its American counterpart Scion has introduced a slightly cooler concept: a targa-top GT 86.

Well, FR-S, as it's branded over in the States. It's been built by Jeremy Loofofsky who works at a place called Cartel Customs, and is actually a rather cool take on one of TG's favouritest sports cars.

Because it's built for the upcoming SEMA show, it's been decked out in the obligatory dress code: a wide bodykit, integrated rear spoiler, lowered, KW coil-over suspension, 19in forged wheels and a custom two-tone paintjob.

But it's the conversion to a targa top that's got us interested. Strip away the show fat, and you have to admit, a targa GT 86 is a cool idea. Don't forget, the old Supra used to sport a targa variant, too.

The show car also gets a GReddy ‘street turbo' kit with an unspecified power output (we suspect it'll be a Big Number), a Wilwood big brake conversion with a nickel-plated finish, and a ear-canal-crushing sound system to play your choonz on.

"We have won two Mothers design awards and SEMA fan favourite awards throughout the years," says Loofofsky. "I'm pretty confident our FR-S will come home on a positive note as well."
