Dodge wants to hire a ‘Chief Donut Maker’ and give you a free Hellcat
Plus fresh business cards, a Dodge-approved outfit, and a $150,000 salary. Really
Feeling a bit listless as winter sets in? Thinking that the new year might be the perfect time to execute a career move? We have good news.
Dodge has created one of the oddest professional positions in car industry history. But it does come with a couple of really tasty perks.
The job vacancy is for a ‘Chief Donut Maker’. Really. And Dodge isn't looking for someone to come and swirl the Crispy Crème mixer in the canteen. Oh no.
It says the Chief Donut Maker will be something of an honorary position designed "to celebrate one of the unsung enthusiasts that make up the backbone of the Dodge brand’s 'Brotherhood of Muscle'".
Hmm, Brotherhood of Muscle. Wasn’t that one of the club venues in Magic Mike?
Sorry, back to the job description. Dodge says its future CDM will embody the spirit of the founding Dodge brothers. It's looking for “scrappy go-getters. Never content to follow the trends… seekers of a better, faster, more outrageous way of doing things".
Sound like you? Great. Here’s the small print.
The Chief Donut Maker will get Chief Donut Maker business cards classy enough to bring Patrick Bateman out in a cold sweat. They get a vague ‘wardrobe’ which we presume means Dodge-branding clothing, not a big box with doors on to hang shirts in.
Oh, and two more things. You'll receive an actual real-life Dodge Hellcat to drive: a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 muscle car chucking 707 horsepower somewhere vaguely in the direction of the rear wheels. The CDM’s company car can do 199 miles an hour.
That’ll need plenty of fuel, then. Lucky the salary for this lofty position is a cool $150,000.
