Chevrolet Camaro Black news - The Dark Knight - 2008
When we saw a teaser sketch for the SEMA-bound Chevrolet Camaro Black last week, we had an inkling it might look a bit scary in the metal. And it does.
Here’s the Camaro Black, live and kicking and generally looking a bit intimidating on the SEMA show floor (even with this Camaro about). You’ll have spotted the body kit, big shiny wheels and, of course, those red headlight rings, which make the Camaro Black look worryingly like a crazed albino. A black albino, mind.
More of a surprise, though, is the choice of powerplant for the Camaro – we’d have put our life savings (four pound fifty and a buy-one-get-one-free voucher for cornflakes) on a V8 under the bonnet, but it’s actually powered by Chevy’s much-more-sensible 3.6-litre V6.
Even two cylinders short, it’s an imposing specimen. Pretty much what KITT out of Knight Rider would look like if he turned evil, we reckon. If they hadn’t gone for this rubbish Mustang GT500, below, for the new series instead…
For more SEMA stuff, look at the Rhys Millen Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the Camaro GS Racecar Concapt and the Toyota Yaris Club Speedster.
