This is a $300,000, 545bhp Ford F-150 Raptor
One-off Raptor draws inspiration from fighter-jet of same name...
What does a Ford F-150 Raptor share with a Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor? That’s right – besides its name, literally nothing whatsoever. But that hasn’t stopped Ford from creating this one-off F-22-themed F-150, which raised $300,000 for charity when it was auctioned-off at an air-show in Wisconsin last week.
Why so expensive? A regular Ford Raptor has 450bhp and 510lb ft of torque thanks to the same twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 as the Ford GT. The F22 gets more. 545bhp and 660lb ft to be precise, plus upgraded Alcon brakes, more serious suspension with Fox shocks and custom forged beadlock wheels. There’s also an all-LED light array, a 1,500 watt stereo (we’re informed this is “many watts”), flared carbon-fibre wheelarches and a stainless-steel Borla exhaust. The list goes on.
F-22 motifs cover the interior and exterior – most obviously the ‘RAPTOR’ script that normally spans the width of the grill has been replaced with a silhouette of the plane itself. Bespoke paintwork and interior trim finish it off nicely. Add a bald eagle, some spray-cheese, many US flags and an unnecessarily powerful weapon, and you’re well on your way to the most American car ever.
