New Top Gear magazine on sale now: new vs used special
An idiot's guide to buying a car, and making your money go further
What better way to start 2019 than with a brand-new issue of Top Gear magazine? This month it’s all about making your money go further, and seeing how much extra car you can get if you buy used (spoiler, it’s a lot). Our many-page feature covers all the bases – from supercars to SUVs, via saloons and sports cars. Plus Chris Harris gives his verdict on our picks.
Elsewhere, we talk to Sebastian Vettel’s worst nightmare. It’s his new teammate at Ferrari, the irritatingly young and irritatingly talented Charles Leclerc. Could it be him, not Vettel, who becomes Ferrari’s next F1 World Champion?
Then there’s a drive of the €1.5million Italdesign Zerouno – a five-off supercar based on the Lamborghini Hurcan – and a group test of four, seven-seat family SUVs. The new Hyundai Santa Fe and Honda CR-V take on the establishment, in the form of two TG favourites, the Skoda Kodiaq and Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Then we head to Bahrain with a Porsche Panamera, have a think about the world’s finite oil resources and examine one hell of a car collection, before traveling Down Under to the “Ute capital of the world”. Lastly, we tackle the European equivalent of the Three Peaks Challenge, with nowt but a Hyundai i30N for company.
News of the all-new Porsche 911, Audi e-tron GT and McLaren 720S Spider is joined by columns from Harris, Reid and Gymkhana-star Ken Block, plus drives of all the latest cars. This month’s big ‘un is Audi’s all-electric e-tron SUV.
