New TG mag out now: across Europe in the Aston Martin DB11

In the September issue of Top Gear magazine, we hit the road for our annual summer road trip adventures. After a, erm, 'slightly strained' few months with Europe, we turn cultural attaches, cross over the channel and take the new 600bhp Aston Martin DB11 for a 2,500-mile trip across the continent. As a perfect example of what the UK stands for in terms of design, creativity, engineering and technology, we find out if the new DB11 can smooth things over with our European neighbours.

Heading further afield, our adventures take us to Nambia’s Skeleton Coast in search of a shipwreck in the desert in the latest Toyota Hilux, we try to complete a lap of Iceland in less than 24-hours in the new 562bhp Nissan GT-R and visit Ireland to retrace one of the most iconic routes in motorsport, the Gordon Bennett, in the Mercedes-AMG C63S Coupe.

Our final road trip sees us head to Italy to meet the design boss of Touring, who has somewhat bravely taken a beautiful Alfa Romeo 8C and junked it… but only to create a new masterpiece, the Disco Volante Spyder. Our final adventure goes even further, intergalactic in fact, as we head to New Mexico to meet Richard Branson and discuss how becoming an astronaut would be more fun than buying a new supercar.
