This astonishing Bugatti-themed watch costs $580,000
Jacob & Co’s latest watch is inspired by Molsheim’s record-breaking 300mph Chiron
Thought Jacob & Co’s last Bugatti-inspired watch was outrageous? Well friends, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
The latest watch to emerge from Bugatti’s partnership with Swiss watchmaker Jacob & Co is called the “Twin Turbo Furious Bugatti 300+”, and it’s ridiculous. Costing some $580,000 (around £467,000) and set to be built in a limited edition of just three examples, the watch is inspired by Bugatti’s 300mph longtail Chiron.
It “echoes the materials and colours” of the record-breaker – with an 88-piece case made from forged carbon (to match the Chiron’s bodywork) and titanium. Said case measures 57 by 52 millimetres, which is bloody massive.
Meanwhile the movement features TWO triple-axis tourbillons, a decimal minute repeater and mono-pusher chronograph with a “reference time indicator”. It also tells the actual time, which is most handy.
Made from 832 tiny components, the manually-wound movement is fantastically complicated. Astonishing in its engineering, whatever you make of its design of the case it’s contained within.
