Swiss tuners ruin Cadillac Escalade

Published: 20 May 2011

Behold: the Cadillac Escalade, as modified by Swiss tuners FAB Design. An anonymous North African buyer approached FAB with a simple brief: his Escalade must look like no other. Which explains the re-sculpted headlight things, anabolic chrome snout, gigantic fog lights, rear window louvres and quad exhausts.

Under the doors, apropos of nothing, are massive cylinders. They lower themselves when you unlock it, offering a handy step to heave yourself inside, where it’s just as unpleasant.

Said buyer insisted that both snakes and crocodiles were peeled to trim the seats and dash, although FAB would only supply fake croc skin. The Escalade has, nevertheless, caused consternation with pressure group Pro Wildlife, who complained too many snakes were skinned inhumanely. Company owner Roland Rysanek responded by insisting FAB’s materials are sourced responsibly, and all snakes have a pain-free death. Shame about their afterlife.
