Calling all G-Wagen owners: this is a sub-£10k kitchen conversion for your SUV
Dubbed the ‘Tecrawl’, the kit includes a gas stove, pressurised water system and even a fold-out dining table
As if the world’s G-Class owners were short on aftermarket modifications, German off-road tuner Terracamper has unveiled a unique interior expansion kit called the ‘Tecrawl’. In essence, it’s… a kitchen. We must stress from the start: Gordon Ramsay isn’t included.
To help ease your culinary demands off the beaten track, the Tecrawl - which is screwed directly onto the G-Wagen’s original attachment points, and pulls out from the side of the vehicle’s door - features a dual gas burner stove, extra storage spaces and a removable, fold-out dining table which also masquerades as a make-shift two-by-one metre bed.
Further attributes include a cupboard for storing your fairy liquid and a pressurised water system which houses both a removable 20-litre fresh water tank and a 31-litre cool box. Terracamper also says there is a designated space for a bog of sorts, though toilet rolls are sadly not included.
Bringing the additions to a close, the kit also includes a battery monitor, charging booster, solar panel and lithium battery (150 Ah). LED lighting and an extra heater are also provided.
The Tecrawl is priced at £9,485 (or 11,000 euros), which many would argue is cheaper than an actual home kitchen conversion itself. Perhaps buying a G-Wagen and upgrading it with a Tecrawl is the way to beat the inflated house prices at present?
