Scoop! New Challenger Demon gets monster cold-air intake

To produce a bigger bang, you need colder air. To get colder air then, you need scoop. Lots of scoop. Welcome everyone, to this week's teaser for the new Dodge Challenger Demon.

The excellently-named Demon sits above the Hellcat, and as such, is expected to produce more than the latter car's 707bhp from a supercharged 6.2-litre V8. How much more, we don't know.

All we know is to "maximise the Demon's full potential" and increase the power output of the upcoming car, Dodge's SRT team installed a very large bonnet scoop, measuring more than 45 square inches.

There is also a "significantly" larger air box sealed and ducted to this very large bonnet scoop, along with a pair of illuminated, functional 'air catcher' headlights.

All in, the SRT Demon's airflow has been significantly increased, and Dodge tells us the inlet air temperature has dropped by more than 30 degrees compared to the Hellcat.
