Only nine of these McLaren Artura and 750S Celebration Editions will be built
McLaren celebrates its 2024 F1 constructors’ title by splashing out the papaya
No, McLaren isn’t marking its first F1 constructors' crown in 26 years by breaking out a tub of chocolates. Instead, the Artura and 750S Celebration Editions are a jamboree of carbon fibre and orange paint. No we’ll give the Bounty a miss, thanks.
As a nod to McLaren’s ninth title, only nine of each will be built, carrying a bespoke papaya-anthracite livery loosely mimicking that of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri’s MCL38.
Other touches include orange brake calipers, a nine-star logo emblem (also in orange) and that finest of limited-run traditions, a bonnet stripe. No prizes for guessing the colour.
Both drivers will sign each car too – with room for their respective scribbles on the extended sill cover – and a commemorative carbon fibre plaque will be hewn directly from the championship winning F1 car. That’s right, you can own a bit of 2024’s most feared aero. Closely followed by the leading edge of the Cybertruck…
Inside you’ll find a Champions’ Laurel on the headrests, a papaya 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel, and a further plaque listing all of the MCL38’s poles, wins and fastest laps. Of which there were a fair few.
“The relentless pursuit of excellence is intrinsic to the McLaren mindset and in 2024 we demonstrated this with incredible success on both the track and the road,” said McLaren Automotive boss Michael Leiters. “The achievements of Zak Brown, Andrea Stella, Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and the entire McLaren Racing team in winning the Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship are beyond inspirational – and what better way to mark this than with an ultra-exclusive Celebration Edition of our award-winning Artura and 750S."
Ah yes, award-winning. The 750S earned TopGear.com’s Performance Car of the Year gong (not an actual gong) back in November. Success on and off the track? At the same time? This calls for a selection box! Er no, we’ll give the Bounty a miss, thanks.
