One-off Lambo alert! Huracan Sterrato ‘Opera Unica’ gets fancy paint
Crystal-effect paint job takes 370 hours to complete; celebrates 60 years of Lamborghini
Just 1,499 Lamborghini Huracan Serratos will ever be built - and even fewer will see the light of day, you’d think, once collectors have stashed them away - but only one will ever look like this.
This is the Opera Unica, an entirely one-off, never-to-be-repeated endeavour that involved 370 hours of painstaking paintwork (is there any other kind of paintwork?) to complete, marking Lambo’s 60th anniversary.
You see, the icy, three-colour finish is allegedly based on the ‘vibrant blues of Sardinia’s seas and skies’, and has been applied to the off-roading Sterrato so that it might tackle the unpaved roads of the island’s Costa Smeralda region.
Matt black parts also feature heavily, most notably on the roof, sills, headlight casings, front splitter, bumpers and diffuser. Oh, and those 19in Morus rims.
Inside there’s a generous helping of exposed carbon fibre, with the sports seats, various panels and the console finished in leather. The dashboard meanwhile gets Alcantara; the steering wheel a bit of both.
“The Huracán Sterrato was born from challenging the expected, delivering a super sports car that goes beyond convention,” said CEO and chairman Stephan Winkelmann. “The one-off Huracán Sterrato Opera Unica takes this to another level, and in Lamborghini tradition, draws attention and asks questions of it as an art form.
“Lamborghini is always touched by the beauty and colours of Sardinia, and this is the perfect opportunity to experiment with a new paint process, explore the possibilities of our Ad Personam personalisation, and then present this special Sterrato to our clients and guests in the environment that inspired the blue crystal effect.”
Having been revealed at an uber-exclusive company dinner in Porto Cervo, the car will actually see the light of day - briefly - to on display at the seaside town’s Lamborghini Lounge.
