This is a lairy green 911 GT3 RS with THOSE decals
Porsche Exclusive fulfils one customer's wish for a 911 GT3 RS painted properly. Like it?
Remember when the 911 GT3 RS first appeared earlier in 2015? Its most stark feature to our eyes wasn’t the ginormous wing or front air vents, rather its lack of graphics.
All of its predecessors arrived with decals emblazoned along the bottom of the doors, see. They were showy, alright, but they were a big box to tick in the Anorak’s Guide to 911s. They were an easy differentiator between the RS and the regular, borderline straight-laced GT3.
But we feared the new one had grown up a bit. It looks very senior (drives very senior, too), but somewhat bare without its name scribbled down the side in Porsche’s signature italic font.
Enter Porsche Exclusive, the Stuttgart firm’s customisation arm. One customer has had the good grace to request his GT3 RS not only with the iconic graphics, but a lairy colour that recalls the orange and green GT3 RSs of old.
‘Birch Green’ features not only as the exterior colour, but as piping on some very slender carbon sports seats. ‘Porsche’ is also scripted atop that racer-spec spoiler, just in case anyone with an aerial view hadn’t been alerted by the eye-searing colour.
There’s no word on what a GT3 RS this bespoke costs, but we reckon it’ll be notably more than the £131,296 needed to buy one with a less arresting colour scheme. We also reckon whatever the premium is, it’s worth it.
