It's a Ferrari F355 shooting brake!

The Ferrari GTC4 Lusso and FF: two cars that take contemporary Ferrari styling cues, and apply them to a two-door shooting brake style.

Like them or not, they’re bold, brave pieces of design. The supercar market is all the better for the variety they inject into it.

But what if Ferrari had come up with the idea in the 1990s? That’s the question fuelling the latest render from Rain Prisk. Last week he showed us an apocalypse-proof Bentley Bentayga; this week, a rather stunning Ferrari F355 hatchback.

Like it? Given how perfect the proportions are on the petite little F355, this could have been a flawed concept. But we reckon Prisk’s sympathetic tweaking of the little Ferrari’s shape is carried out superbly.

How well it’ll carry rear passengers, we’re not sure. There’s also the not so small matter of the F355 being mid-engined, and this concept having to be front-engined (bar some engineering wizardry beneath, of course).

The front overhang looks little different to a standard Ferrari F355's, as do the front air intakes. The only discernible nod to a change in layout is the smoothed-out doors, free of the intakes needed for a mid-mounted engine.

It’s easy to argue none of this matters, of course. It’s a fine-looking car, and one destined to never be real, or bound by actual physics. Is that a shame? Is Prisk’s creation a Ferrari you can see yourself driving?
