Behold a bright green Lamborghini Centenario

Want one of the rarest Lambos ever made? Better be cool with some attention...

Published: 13 Oct 2017

This, internet, is a green Lamborghini Centenario. We’d like to say there’s more to it than that – an underlying plot that makes this car’s existence amazing or astounding – but really it’s just one of Lambo’s wildest cars, in one of its wildest colours, for you to gawp at and comment upon.

The colour is ‘Verde Bronte’, and it’s a matt finish green. It’s been specced alongside gold-tinted carbonfibre which has green contrasting bits. It’s not a car for making a quiet entrance or a subtle exit. If you’re shy or retiring, forget it.

It’s hardly like the Centenario needs a helping hand in standing out, of course. Just 40 have been made, so it already has shock value on its side, while its styling is best described as ‘bold’. Some may love it, others may hate it. We suspect none of you are sat at your keyboard or on your phone saying ‘meh’.

At the Centenario’s heart is an Aventador and its V12 engine, albeit tuned to 760bhp while there’s lots of tech like four-wheel steering. The latter’s since become available on the Aventador S, but the Centenario effectively trialled and debuted the newer car’s tech before it arrived. And the rarer car remains 30bhp more powerful and hits 62mph a tenth of a second quicker than the S, in a mere 2.8sec.

The price, when new, was £1.7million. Whether the gold carbon swelled that further we don’t know. But if you want this one, expect to pay: it’s the only green Centenario available. Oh, and you’ll have to get yourself to Lamborghini Hong Kong
