Oh boy! You’ll be able to have your Bertone Runabout in BROWN
Brilliantly retro, limited-run recreation will feature some brilliantly retro paint options
BREAKING NEWS: Bertone has announced pre-orders are now open for its glorious new Runabout, and you’ll be able to spec yours in brown.
Well, technically the colour is called ‘Rame Antico’ and it’s supposed to be more of a copper or bronze shade that’s “inspired by classic Italian craftsmanship”, but we’re seeing brown in these new renders and we’re loving it.
Need a Runabout refresher? This car is a modern-day reimagining of the 1969 Autobianchi A112 Runabout concept that was designed by Marcello Gandini. It’ll be offered as both a Targa and a Barchetta, and will be powered by a mid-mounted V6 connected to a six-speed manual gearbox.
Bertone originally wanted that V6 to send more than 500bhp to the rear wheels, but we’re now told it’ll only get 454bhp. Barchetta buyers are probably rather pleased.
Just 25 examples will be built in total, with prices kicking off at €350,000 before tax. There are other (incorrect) colours available, too – these renders apparently show ‘Azzurro Mediterraneo’ (blue) and ‘Bianco Perla’ (silvery white).
Production is set to begin in mid-2026. We’ll take ours in brown, thanks.
