Ford has opened up its online vault to show these incredible archive pictures
Don’t blame us if you end up wasting your day trawling through a trove of classic Fords
Ford has announced a novel new way of completely wasting your entire working day in the most entertaining way possible. The ‘Ford Heritage Vault’ has now been updated with more than 1,600 pics of every car it has ever sold in the UK, and it is quite incredible.
Which means bye-bye productivity. It was created to make it easier for Ford enthusiasts to track down a particular car from its storied back catalogue, with each image available for free for personal use.
Indeed throughout 2022, Ford has curated nearly 10,000 Ford and Lincoln images and even product brochures and made it available online for the first time. “We’re opening up in a way we’ve never done before,” explains the company’s archive and heritage brand manager.
“Making our archives accessible for everyone online is a real passion project for me and the team. Looking back through Ford’s history not only helps to educate, but can serve as inspiration as we accelerate our transformation into an all-electric and software-driven vehicle company.”
Indeed, the story of Ford in the UK is most likely the story of ‘my family had one of those when I was a kid’. The online archive is only one part – Ford has also moved its heritage cars to Daventry, a roster that includes a Mark I Transit GEC, Sierra Cossie, Escort Mexico and an RS200 among many others.
We’ve picked out a mere handful of the thousands on offer – which you can check out via this link. So, planning on achieving much today?
