Land Rover has made 600,000 Range Rover Evoques. That’s a fairly staggering claim, particularly given it’s around double the amount of ‘regular’ Range Rovers that have sold in the six years since the Evoque’s arrival. Anyone confused when the LRX concept gained the company’s premium badge surely sees the brains behind the decision now…
Not content with simply having a nice bit of cake and ordering in a few foil balloons, Land Rover has followed car industry protocol and deployed the Limited-Edition-o-Matic, cranking the handle to see what shiny, big-wheeled special drops out the bottom.
And so we meet the Range Rover Evoque Landmark. It comes in Moraine Blue, a colour that – if you’d not already spotted – is inspired by the turquoise blue lakes of the Canadian Rockies. The clue’s in the name, too. You can have white and grey paint if you want, but surely that’s pooh-poohing the celebrations a bit?
You also get a subtle body kit, dark grey exterior bits and bobs (like the badges and bonnet vents), 19in alloys and some brushed satin trim inside. There are extra boxes pre-ticked on the order form, too, namely keyless entry, a hands-free hatchback and a fixed glass roof.
Landmark spec is available on the 178bhp diesel Evoque, with the manual costing £39,000, and the automatic (which you probably want) £40,840. The Range Rover Evoque Landmark makes its debut not at a motor show, as is traditional, but at the Royal Windsor Horse Show on May 10. Of course it does…
