New Corvette race car rendered
It was only yesterday that our men on the Detroit motor show floor brought you all the news from the unveiling of the new Chevrolet Corvette. But that hasn't stopped digital scribblers of the Internet rendering what potential future, hot versions might look like.
We've fallen in love with one particular rendering more than others: an AMLS spec C7R by Photoshop extraordinaire Jon Sibal. It looks angry. Really angry thanks to exposed carbon fibre body panels, matte black decals, Ali G approved yellow lens, centre-lock wheels, massive aerodynamic appendages and huge side exhaust pipes.
Unfortunately you can't render sound in Photoshop. So you'll just have to close your eyes and use your imagination to guess what the race version of the all-new pushrod 6.2-litre V8 will sound like. We're guessing that it'd be similar to Brian Blessed flossing his teeth with a chainsaw.
We don't know much more about the car other than this picture; it was only posted on Jon's Instagram page (which made a change to the normal things on our Instagram feed which include Stig taking pictures of what he's eating). Obviously, this is in no way official, but if Corvette racing taking a fancy to it, it wouldn't be the first time that one of Jon's virtual cars have been turned into reality.
Think you can do better? Why not crack out the Etch a Sketch and send it to us at editor@topgear.com . You may even see it in this week's inbox roundup.
