Watch Ken Block race in the dark
This is not a new Gymkhana video, but it does involve plenty of hoonery, lots of noise and frickin' LASERS. Welcome everyone, to the Titanium Strong Blackout trial.
For reasons beyond TopGear.com's comprehension, Castrol built a racetrack, lit it up using hundreds of beams of light, enlisted a few reasonably capable drivers and put them in some reasonably capable cars. Then they set them loose. Yeah, us neither.
The drivers? Augusto Farfus (BMW DTM works driver), Mike Rockenfeller (Audi Sport works driver), Adrian Zaugg (Lamborghini Squadra Corse test driver) and of course, Ken Block, who really needs no introduction to you lot.
The cars were equally bombastic too, Zaugg in a Lambo Aventador, Farfus in a BMW M4, ‘Rocky' in a V10 Audi R8 and Block in his Fiesta ST; an ST that didn't have a speedometer or rev counter, meaning he had to guess his jump speed.
Ah yes, the jump. The whole thing is set up as a four-car relay, and Block provides a fitting finale. Have a watch of the video and let us know what you think. Reckon he should get some more drivers involved in the next Gymkhana?
