Lewis takes the crown, Merc takes the team title, Vettel's second. Have your say

"This was a special way to end a special season," explains Mercedes-AMG's F1 boss Toto Wolff, after the season-ending Abu Dhabi GP. "A dominant 1-2 finish in the final race of the season gives us good momentum into the winter."

It has - despite the Abu Dhabi GP being a bit of a snooze fest - been quite a decent year for F1. Ever since the turbo-hybrid era arrived, Merc's dominance had been all but unassailable. In 2017, that nearly changed, thanks to a resurgent Ferrari and a Sebastian Vettel in sprightly form.

Not just that, but we saw more flashes of Max Verstappen's brilliance (a Hamilton vs Verstappen battle in the future will be something to savour), and decent fights up and down the field.
