Red Bull’s wild UK drifting course revealed
‘Drift Shifters’ hits Liverpool. Here’s what the drivers will have to face
Red Bull has revealed a wild new drifting course for its ‘Drift Shifters’ event, and it’s a big ‘un: three times the size of RB’s New Zealand based events.
A total of 12 of the world’s best drifters will face a variety of obstacles across the circuit – through the streets of Liverpool – including sliding underneath a truck, an 80-metre long wall ride, and a parallel park drift.
The course is rigged with a load of sensors to make it even more tricky. Drivers will be judged on speed, line, angle and proximity, and we’re told the sensors convert the quality of each drivers’ drift into a score. So no judges.
They’re all up against the clock, though of course, each is free to bring their own unique drifting style to the event. The whole thing kicks off on 19 August. Check out the map above.
