They're just showing off now, aren't they? Fresh from taking the driver's championship last weekend and on the cusp of claiming the constructors' championship, Red Bull Racing decided to take one of their old RBs converted for show use and drive through the Himalayas. A mountain range. In an F1 car.
Their ‘showcar' was driven through the Khardung-La pass in the Leh region of India - regarded as one of the world's highest motorable passes - by Neel Jani. He drove past the famous Thiksey Monastery, the Shanti Stupa and the rolling roads of South Pullu at a height of 18,380ft. Probably not flat out.
Said Jani: "The Himalayas are as imposing as anything in the world and to become a part of history here will be a cherished memory." Yeah yeah, but is it as imposing as a ‘Schumacher'?
