This is a Lexus LC500 endurance racer

The best Lexus since the LFA will be howling around the Nürburgring 24 hours

Toyota competes in the Nürburgring 24 hours every year. And in 2018, it’s doing so with this rather cool looking Lexus LC500.

The LC, if you need a reminder, is the best Lexus since the LFA. Well, it is if you go for the naturally aspirated V8 version. Which Toyota’s Gazoo Racing motorsport arm naturally has.

What spec the LC500 racecar runs in we’ve not been told, but the road car produces 470bhp, and N24 competitors tend to be pretty closely related to their showroom counterparts.

In this case, that’s really no bad thing; the sound of one these howling through the crisp 3am air promises to be incredible.

Toyota takes its engineers to the ‘Ring, and they often form the driving team and pit crew for the 24-hour race to aid their development. Beats a teambuilding trip to go paintballing or problem-solving any day…
