Venom GT prepares for Goodwood

This weekend, lots of people will trample over a man's lawn to look at cars drive up a hill.

That, in its simplest form, is the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed. In reality, it is a tyre-smoking, supercar-draped display of motoring excellence, held on the Earl of March's estate since 1993. And this year, John Hennessey is bringing his Venom GT.

The little yellow mentalist is filmed here preparing for its big debut at this year's FoS, and is apparently ‘able to put down over 800hp without the help of traction control'. Since you asked nicely, we'll remind you that this Lotus-based vegetable shrinker also comes in 1,000bhp variety, courtesy of its supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine lifted from the Corvette ZR1.
