The ‘Time Chaser_111100’ is a one-off cyberpunk Lamborghini Huracán STO
Japanese artist fashions a new STO for the company’s 60th anniversary
Lamborghini has presented a one-off version of its Huracán STO that quite literally wears its past. The ‘Time Chaser_111100’ is a special art piece styled by a Japanese designer in celebration of Lambo’s 60th anniversary.
The designer, Ikeuchi, deployed original parts from Lamborghini’s previous anniversary editions including the Countach 25th Anniversary, the Diablo SE30, Murciélago 40th and Aventador LP 720-4 50th.
What exactly these parts are remains a mystery, but we can see the opera unica (unique) STO wears a very distinct… module? Yes, module, over the engine cover that incorporates the launch colours of those four predecessors.
Ikeuchi takes inspiration from cyberpunk and robot anime, hence the distinctive styling of this module that sits atop the V10. Perhaps wisely, Ikeuchi has left the drivetrain of the STO untouched, meaning a lightweight body (1,339kg, some 43kg lighter than a regular Huracán) packing a 631bhp/416lb ft 5.2-litre V10 and much downforce.
Elsewhere, Ikeuchi also designed the ‘Time Gazer’; a sort of simulator model using actual Lamborghini parts – intakes, engine cover, switchgear, a wheel and so on – in order to present his vision of “past, present and future through the lens of Lamborghini’s evolution”. Given his predilection towards cyberpunk, the muted grey and black colour palette makes sense, but surely any introspective Lambo model needs to be full lairy orange, no?
“The Time Gazer and the Time Chaser were created by incorporating original parts from past anniversary models and are meant to be a celebration of Lamborghini’s history from the very past with the aim of living longer also in the future,” Ikeuchi said.
Of course, we know how Lamborghini intends on ‘living longer in the future’…
