Roush’s new 2023 TrakPak Mustang gets fancy suspension like the GT500
Missed out on the Mustang Shelby GT500? This Roush pack will make your ‘Stang track-ready
Ford used fancy MagneRide suspension on the recent Mustang GT350s and GT500s, and now Roush has included the very same adaptive magnetorheological dampers on its new 2023 TrakPak Mustang. Suspension nerds, assemble!
Untwisted your tongue from trying to say ‘magnetorheological’ yet? Great, because there’s more to learn about the strangely-spelt TrakPak.
Given Roush Performance’s penchant for supercharging, you’d think that the TrakPak would include some extra power. But no, the $20,150 kit doesn’t add any extra oomph to your base Mustang, instead focusing on aero, cooling, noise and that suspension. Nice.
The aero is altered with a new front lip and rear spoiler, while extra vents in the bonnet and on the front wings offer more cooling for what Roush calls ‘spirited driving sessions’. To that end, there’s also new transmission and diff coolers that work with a new performance oil cooling system to keep the powertrain chilled.
You can have your TrakPak as a six-speed manual or 10-speed auto and there are 20-inch forged wheels available clad in sticky tyres, plus an active performance exhaust with Touring, Sport, Track and Custom modes.
So, what do we think folks? Fancy sending your (now previous-gen) Mustang over to Roush for some track-based upgrades?
