Manthey’s Porsche 911 GT3 set a blisteringly-quick Nürburgring lap time
German tuner shaves over four seconds off the standard GT3’s already rather speedy ‘Ring time
Here’s one to add to that Nürburgring lap time board you’re keeping on your bedroom wall: the 992-gen Porsche 911 GT3 with the Manthey Performance Kit has set a mightily impressive time of 6m 55.737s, beating the ‘standard’ car by 4.19 seconds.
Now, if you’re into your track-prepped Porsches, you may remember that Manthey’s kit brings a host of chassis upgrades including a new four-way adjustable suspension setup, lightweight forged wheels with aerodiscs at the rear and race-spec brake pads plus braided brake lines.
There’s plenty of aero work as you can see too. Manthey fits an extended lip spoiler and a couple of fins up front, as well as a modified floor for more downforce on the front axle. At the rear there’s a wider, more aggressive swan-neck wing with massive end plates, plus the diffuser has been modified with extended fins.
The full Performance Kit is sold as an official optional extra by Porsche and the car used for the rapid run was wearing optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres – the same as those fitted to the standard 911 GT3 when it recorded its lap a year earlier.
Frenchman and Porsche works driver Kévin Estre was the man driving the modified Manthey, and you can ride on board with him for the full lap in the video below. Pretty impressive, right?
