Holy moly! It’s the rally-inspired Alpine A110 Tour de Corse 75
Only 150 examples of this Alpine A110 Tour de Corse 75 will be made, and orders are being taken from 17 June
We love the Alpine A110. We also love rally-inspired special editions of things. So you can imagine our reaction when news of this Alpine A110 Tour de Corse 75 dropped into our in tray. Nope, giddy doesn’t come close.
The machine you see here is inspired by the Tour de Corse, Corsica’s so-called ‘rally of 10,000 corners’ inaugurated in 1956 and - pre-Covid at least - a regular stopover for the World Rally Championship.
Specifically, the A110 Tour de Corse 75 is a tribute to the namesake that came so close to winning in 1975, just barely losing out to a Lancia Stratos HF on the final stage. Though it missed out on glory, it at least finished the rally; something 55 of the 77 starters could manage, such were the demands of the route that year.
So, what do we have? A yellow body, with black contrast roof and bonnet, the latter sporting a white border. Plus a smattering of black and white graphics, and of course many, many motifs to draw attention to the car’s specialness.
Those splendid wheels are ‘Grand Prix’ 18s finished in gloss white, while the Brembo brake calipers are finished in orange. Inside you’ll find Sabelt Racing bucket seats embroidered with the Tour de Corse 75 name, and buyers get the option of a competition harness. You know, in case you decide the graphics aren’t just for show.
It also benefits from Alpine’s latest multimedia system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and what special edition would be complete without a plaque denoting its number in the run.
Before you ask, only 150 examples are going to be built. In the UK they're priced at £66,855: quite a price hike over the top-spec A110 GT, despite boasting the same 296bhp powertrain.
That said, of those 150 units, just five are coming to the UK, so at least there's some exclusivity to justify the leap. Orders are being taken from 17 June. Invite us over for a spin, yeah?
