Ford GT news - GT whizz - 2008

Published: 27 Nov 2008

Camilo Pardo is the designer responsible for the Ford GT. Jason Heffner is the man responsible for tuning a whole bunch of supercars into total excess – including a 930bhp Gallardo.

When the two of them get together, things like this happen. This is the Heffner Camilo Ford GT, and it’s truly, truly mad.

Pardo has been responsible for a handful of styling tweaks – a new rear bumpers, fresh paintjob and some shiny bits ‘n’ pieces in the cabin.

But it’s the stuff under the vented bonnet that’s really got us interested. Heffner has given the GT’s 5.4-litre supercharged V8 the full twin-turbo treatment, which bumps power up to ‘over 900bhp’. The stock GT, remember, put out a measly 550bhp.

It’ll now hit 200mph in under 19 seconds, and clock 150mph at the end of the quarter-mile run. Which, by our calculations, means it’s capable of a nine second quarter-mile time. Ouch.

The bad news is that the Heffner Camilo GT has already been sold, within just a few minutes of it being announced. However, the duo haven’t ruled out building another couple of cars, but you’ll have to ask very nicely and come armed with a very large wallet…
