This 808bhp Ford Mustang is the 10,000th Hennessey

Texan tuner celebrates 27 years of modifying via a hugely powerful ‘Stang

Published: 01 Aug 2018

Hennessey Performance – the team behind the Venom and incoming F5 hypercar – has built its 10,000th vehicle. Behold, a very highly tuned Ford Mustang.

“This is one of the most beautiful Mustangs we’ve ever built,” explains company boss John, “and it has the power and performance to match its gorgeous looks”. Ah yes, power.

Hennessey doesn’t normally shy away from this particular battlefield, and has upped the 5.0-litre supercharged V8’s ante to its, um, uppiest. A 3.0-litre supercharger system, air-to-water intercooler setup, better injectors and fuel pump, plus a high-flow air induction system – no doubt among other tweaks – has liberated many horsepowers from the V8.

Specifically, 808bhp and quite a lot of torque. 667lb ft to be exact, which is deployed via the medium of either a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic gearbox, and rear-tyres – 20 inchers wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. And that sound you hear is shock: 0-60mph in 3.3s, a quarter mile in less than 10.7s, and a top speed pushing 200mph.

Yep, it officially becomes one of the world’s nuttiest Mustangs. The celebratory pony gets a carbon fibre aero-honed bodykit – comprising of a new splitter, side sills, and rear spoiler – along with a stainless steel exhaust system, lowered suspension, and the option of massive Brembo brakes front and back.

Only 19 are being built, with prices starting from $89,950, and each one will get an individually numbered plaque. There’s even a three-year/36,000 mile warranty, and – as a final flourish – a personal letter of gratitude from John Hennessey.

“We thought that this look on our specially tuned Hennessey Mustang would also be very appropriate and a great way to celebrate our 10,000th build,” John added.
