Hot Hatch

You can now get a factory-fit Track Pack for the Ford Focus ST

Ford has unveiled a new option box to tick complete with KW suspension and big Brembo brakes

Published: 26 Sep 2022

Ford has announced a new Track Pack option for its impressive Focus ST hot hatch, and although there’s no more power from the 276bhp 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbo engine, the upgrades it does bring should help you get round a circuit a fair bit quicker than the standard car.

First up there’s new 19-inch flow formed aluminium wheels that are 10 per cent lighter than the ST’s standard wheels and are shod in bespoke Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres for maximum grip.

Behind them are Brembo brakes which again (at the front at least) are 10 per cent larger than the standard 330mm discs, with heat fade reduced and four-piston calipers to improve stopping power.

Perhaps the biggest change comes courtesy of the KW Automotive suspension, though. The dampers are adjustable and brilliantly nerdy, with 12 steps for upward response and 16 steps for rebound. They then work with springs that are 50 per cent stiffer than standard and reduce ride height by 10mm with the option to drop a further 15mm. Pretty serious stuff.

Those in the know will be able to spot that you’ve gone for the Track Pack too, because Ford will paint the spoiler, the roof, the front grille, the mirrors and the rear diffuser in gloss black regardless of the main body colour you spec. Those Brembo calipers are finished in red too, and look really closely and you’ll see that the ST badges have a black outline rather than the usual chrome. Impressively minute changes these.

There’s no word on how much the Track Pack will cost just yet, but you can only have it with a manual gearbox and orders open today in Europe, with first cars being delivered in November.
