The McLaren 600LT Spider has been MSO’d

Welcome to this week’s MSO special. This time based on the brand-new 600LT Spider, McLaren’s Special Operations division has given the hardcore roadster a visual upgrade ahead for next month’s Geneva Motor Show.

Said upgrade consists of a body finished in ‘Dove Grey’, with ‘Napier Green’ highlights that pay tribute to the marvellous 675LT. These highlights on the splitter, sills, door inserts and diffuser were applied using a new technique, where paint is compressed into a kind of flexible film before being applied to the car. The brake callipers and 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel are also finished in the same shade of green.

Elsewhere, the MSO 600LT features pretty much every available carbon-fibre option, and its retractable roof and the 10-spoke lightweight alloy wheels are both finished in black. Inside there are carbon buckets lifted straight from the McLaren Senna, carbon-fibre trim on the doors and centre console, Alcantara aplenty and the company’s telemetry system.

As for the oily bits, they're the same as the stock 600LT Spider. That means a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 with 592bhp, giving 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 201mph with the roof up. Top exit exhausts, lightweight suspension components, forged wheels with Trofeo tyres and one-piece carbon seats contribute to a 100kg weight-saving over the normal 570S Spider.
