New Need for Speed trailer lands
Some Koenigseggs, some fire, and some screaming in slow motion. Plus Batman!
This is a new trailer for a film involving lots of fire, lots of explosions, and a healthy dose of screaming into the ether in slow motion. Oh, and a McLaren P1 flipping upside down and crashing.
Don't worry though, we're almost 200 per cent sure it's not a real P1 - what with all of the 375 models either bought or spoken for - and so with that, may we present the latest trailer for Need for Speed. Those of a videogame persuasion will recognise this name as, erm, a videogame; you're right, it's the big screen adaption.
As such, it requires some form of plot to propel the vehicular mayhem, which in this case involves Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad seeking some kind of revenge about something or other, via the medium of racing. And crashing.
You'll spot all the rather high-end machinery on display: the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, the ‘hero' Ford Mustang, a Koenigsegg Agera R that gets trashed (again, probably a replica), a Saleen S7 (we think) and of course, that McLaren P1.
At one point, Michael Keaton - yes, Batman himself - tells us "racing with passion is high art". Have a watch of the trailer and see if you agree. It hits cinemas on March 14 next year.
