Call Of Duty reveals first trailer for Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty’s lifted the veil on the latest instalment of the bombastic shooter franchise, Modern Warfare 3. It won’t surprise you too much to know that there are men in futuristic military gear doing stealthy takedowns and buildings exploding.

Modern Warfare 3, not to be confused with the 2011 release of the exact same name, will feature the usual smorgasbord of action - an all-new campaign, a fresh instalment of zombies in an open-world setting that has you teaming up with other squads, and of course the controller-destroying multiplayer component.

The latter’s going to have a familiar feel about it, since all 16 maps at launch are remakes of the maps featured in 2009’s Modern Warfare 2.

Activision says those maps have been “modernised, both graphically and with meticulous attention given to the authenticity and aspects of the maps that made them so popular". That’s definitely what you’ll be thinking about when a teenager one-shots you from across the map for the 70th time that session. So authentic.

Preordering the game grants you access to an open beta ahead of launch, as well as early campaign access.
