Meet the new range-topping Mercedes-AMG G63 and G65

The Mercedes-AMG G Wagen lives on. AMG has added a new range-topper to its, um, range-topping G63 and G65. Both are now available in the high-end Exclusive Edition, which we have detailed for you below. Sadly, none of those details concern the powertrain, but then again, with a socking great V8 and V12 on board, power really isn't an issue.

Anyway. The visual cues come courtesy of a stainless steel underride guard plus highly important AMG racing stripes along the doors. It even includes the spare wheel cover painted in the G's body colour. On the G63, you get twin-spoke light alloy wheels coated in a matt-black high-sheen finish, whereas the G65 gets ceramically polished light-alloy wheels. Optionally available are the chunky 21in light-alloy rims in black, with high-sheen rim flanges and side rub strips with inserts in carbon-fibre. Tick this option.

The Exclusive Edition also gets a sprucing up inside, including the design Exclusive package with a two-tone, leather trimmed instrument panel and climate-controlled AMG sports seats.

Though nothing has been confirmed for the UK as yet, European prices start at €163.125,20 for the G63, and €287.658,70 for the G65.
